As we embark upon this New Year, I would like to thank everyone of you for the dedication and incredible talent you bring each day to the leadership role you play at SMWG. I continue to be impressed with the heart and innovation I see in this team. Thank you.
In reading Brene Brown’s Braving the Wilderness, I was inspired by a Leadership Manifesto excerpt that I would like to invite you to consider as we lead our teams into 2020:
leader/ n: Anyone who holds her-or himself accountable for finding potential in people and processes.
We want to show up.
We want to learn.
We want to Inspire.
We are hard wired for connection, curiosity, and engagement.
We crave purpose, and we have a deep desire to create and contribute.
We want to take risks, embrace our vulnerabilities, and be courageous.
Feedback is a function of respect; we welcome honest conversations about our strengths and our opportunities for growth.
Above all else, we ask that you show up, let yourself be seen, and be courageous.
I invite all leaders to consider how we show up each day and what inspires us. I am excited for what is to come in the New Year and believe there is great things to come for SMWG.
Best wishes,
