Outpatient Mental Health

Sierra Mental Wellness Group has a convenient physical presence for services in all of the major population centers of Placer County.

Please note: We accept Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal and California Health and Wellness Medi-Cal in addition to our sliding scale.

Unfortunately we are not able to accept Medicare or any secondary insurance in our Outpatient Clinics.

Our Certified 52 week men only program provides a well balanced forum and model for effective non-violent communication and behaviors. The program is structured, comprehensive and subscribes to all current legislative requirements for domestic violence batterer’s intervention treatment.

• Parenting Enhancement Program

There are times in every parent’s life when questions arise and frustrations seem to become unmanageable. SMWG provides alternatives to frustration. Our Parenting Enhancement Program provides participants with practical and manageable information on a variety of topics and current trends. Referrals are accepted from individuals, courts, physicians, clergy and friends.

County Wide Crisis Response Services

After-hours, weekends & holidays SMWG’s team of Crisis Specialists works with hospital Emergency Departments, Law Enforcement and the community by responding to people experiencing a psychiatric emergency. Our Crisis Specialists provide evaluations, referrals, placements or safety planning for those at risk for danger to self, danger to others or are experiencing grave disability due to a psychiatric issue.

San Luis Obispo County

County Wide Mental Health Evaluation Team (MHET)

24 hours a day, 7 days a week the team provides Psychiatric emergency response services similar to our teams in other counties. A unique twist in SLO is not only do we respond to one of four local Emergency Departments but are also mobile and ready to assist individuals directly in the community. This enables us to respond directly and quickly to where we are needed the most.

Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)

The San Luis Obispo Crisis Stabilization Unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a short term voluntary residential care facility, the CSU provides immediate response to adults requiring acute crisis intervention. At the Crisis Stabilization Unit, a focus is placed on acute mental health crisis services with a strong intent to reduce acute psychiatric hospitalization. Services provided at the CSU will address problems and symptoms to reduce risk factors to both the client and the community. Those services include: individual and family counseling, medication monitoring, life skills enhancement, and development of needed resources, personal goals, and follow-up service plans. County Wide Crisis Response Services
